Key Services & Benefits (Recent EDrill Project):
- Total Solutions Provider:
- Procure all safety needs from one place: Full range of PPE and Engineered Systems (including installation & commissioning, testing and training services)
- In-house engineering capabilities
- Customised and expert design recommendations
- Convenient & responsive single point of contact
- Rapid turnaround (1/3 of time)
- Significant cost savings (>25%)
-
- Energy Drilling required a wide suite of PPE (from field-servicable SRLs and safety harnesses to anchorage slings and energy-absorbing lanyards) and the MSA Latchways® Vertical Lifeline (VLL) System
- As with most vessels, turnaround time was tight
- Leveraging WAHS’ global supply chain of partners, and presence in the key ports of Houston, Rotterdam, Korea and Southeast Asia, we were able to deliver the full package in just 2 weeks (1/3 of the time), with >25% cost savings for the client
- “Train-The-Trainer”: Adhere to global recertification standards, while saving cost and building up internal capability
Current Situation
- Fall-protection gear, being classed as Category-III PPE, requires annual certification by accredited personnel, as mandated by international regulations
- Since most offshore rigs are based in the middle of the ocean and far from land, currently during inspection, either i) inspectors are flown onto the rig (highly costly), or more typically, ii) rig operators send the equipment to be tested onshore for at least a week, disrupting operations meanwhile or having to buy a spare set of each equipment to continue working (high cost from daily downtime/ spare equipment expense)
- Loss of revenue incurred from current inspection downtime easily runs in the six-digits, after factoring in cost
The WAHS® Approach to Testing & Certification
- Rather than incur these six-figure downtime losses, WAHS® provides complementary “Train-The-Trainer” services for both PPE equipment and critical Engineered Systems such as MSA field serviceable SRL, Vertical Lifelines (VLL), Horizontal Lifelines (HLL) and Constant Force Poles (CFP)
- Staff undergo just 2-3 days of training, and graduate with the license to test and inspect their own equipment, for up to 3 years’ validity
- This enables clients like Energy Drilling to
i. reap significant cost and time savings
ii. run more regular checks multiple times a year to proactively ensure the health of their equipment
iii. build up internal capacity and competency while adhering to global standards - This is offered under the “Testing & Certification” arm of WAHS®’ S.P.I.T.T.R. Total Solutions Framework (see image above)
We are WAHS®, your Total Solutions Provider for Working At Height. Source all your needs, from surveying to product solutioning, installation to testing, all in one place. With WAHS®, you only need one.
